Application Procedures

Performers (must be age 30 or younger on June 1, 2005)

Please submit the following material:

 1. Completed application form
              2. Nonrefundable $60 application fee
              3. Recent recordings of minimum three works, solo and/or concerto, representing
different styles. Portions of works may be used, e.g. one movement of a sonata.
Additional chamber music, with ensemble, may be included if wishing to participate
in chamber music master class. Chamber piece played in recording is entirely free
choice and does not necessary have to be from those listed
(Click here for Chamber Music Repertoire).
IMPORTANT - BOTH video and audio recordings should be sent. Repertoire on both
recordings may be different or the same. If both recordings are not available, the
Institute will accept either, with a letter of explanation. Acceptance as a performer
also depends heavily on the quality of the recordings, therefore DVD and CD are
preferable to videotape and cassette. Both American NTSC and European PAL
systems are acceptable. Please do not send original copies. The Institute is not
responsible for returning any of the recordings.
              4. Letter of recommendation from current teacher or another distinguished musician
              5. List of repertoire in the order of preference you wish to play in master classes. You
may list as many works as you like, but a minimum of three is required. The Director
is responsible for allocating the repertoire for various master classes and his                   decision is final. Please do not list any pieces that are not ready for performance
                  from memory.
              6. Choice of chamber music in order of preference - optional.
              7. Biography and hobbies
